The “Birds” Have Fallen -Steelers and Packers win

Yesterday there were two divisional championship games. One was exciting and the other was dull. The Ravens really played their hearts out, but when you get to this round of the nfl playoffs, it is one mistake and you are done. The ball is the most important object and it has to be protected at all cost. If you fumble it you might not get another chance because every team which has arrived at this stage of the nfl playoffs can play. Big Ben and the Steelers band of merry men proved that if you just keep at it and don’t give up you can win. That last touchdown was not easy. It took guts and grit and determination. That’s how we must end each day. Push your way into the end zone of life.

In the second game between the Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons got really bad at half time. One or two interceptions and the Falcons were in a free fall. It is interesting how the “birds” fell this weekend. Aaron Rodgers is a great quarterback. He took his time and he was methodical and didn’t try to do too much on one possession. He just kept advancing his team until the game was over.

Just before half time when the Falcons could have tried a kick for 3 points, Matt Ryan tried to force the ball into a tight spot and he got intercepted. Instead of going into half time with momentum, they went in dejected. Even though they had a second half they seemed to have come back out with no game plan. People of the world, all these games are lessons we can learn from. We have half time to go into the locker room and come back out with determination. Slow and steady wins the raise. Today we have two more games. I am picking the Jets and the Bears. We will see on Monday.

NFL PLAYOFFS: Michael Vick and The Philadelphia Eagles

Vick and Done- The Story Of The Phadelphia Eagles

The pit to the palace story of Michael Vick with the Philadelphia Eagles might be over. Talk radio hosts have been having a hay day because of the Eagles loss on Sunday. How quickly people can change their feelings and attitudes towards you. Saturday Vick was a hero and MVP candidate. On Sunday he is the scapegoat.

Yesterday and today the sports news media did not give Michael Vick a break. When he was carrying the team on his back and causing them to win impossible games, nobody brought up his past. But now that he threw an interception when he had enough time on the clock to ground the ball, everybody remembers the dog chapter.

I will not dwell on that, I just want to know how the Eagles feel now that they traded McNabb, demoted Cobb and started Vick. If my facts are right, McNabb took them to a Super bowl. No wonder Eagles fans are upset. Let’s see whose head will roll or who will be the real fall guy for the Eagles elimination from the NFL Playoffs. Of course, as a NY Giants fan, I am glad the Eagles are cooked. But, let’s be balanced with our views if possible. Share your comments.

NFL Playoffs- Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets Big Winners.

NFL Playoffs:Seahawks Upset The Saints and The Jets Flew.

Hello world

The first set of nfl playoffs games were completed yesterday and I am one out of two in my predictions. I guess that is not so bad. Anyhow, how about those Seahawks? They came to play and it seemed like it was about who was more desperate to prove that they belong in the playoffs. Afterall, all week everybody was crying penalty because they were hosting a playoff game with a losing record. Well, they proved that they were nothing like their record. There is something to say for us this 2011. No matter what your record was in 2010, you are now in 2011 with a another chance. The lesson we learn here is to make the best of every opportunity.

How about those Jets? They really played to win in the fourth quarter. With less than a minute to go and two points down, Sanchez led his team down the field into field goal position so they win. That was really a big step forward. Finally, the Jets have humbled the mighty Peyton ann now both Mannings are out of the playoffs. Certainly, Saturday NFL Playoffs were classic ‘Davids’ triumphing over ‘Goliaths’ in both games. The lesson to learn from this is that if you felt like David in 2010, then victory is ahead for you. How will things turn out today? Chiefs and Packers all the way.

Have a great Sunday

NFL Playoffs-Seattle vs Saints

NFL Playoffs:The Saints versus the “Aints”

In just a few minutes the New Orleans Saints will kick off their NFL playoffs wild card game against the Seattle Seahawks. I do not know who you will be rooting for, but make no mistake about it, the Superbowl champions are not dead on arrival. The injustice of them having a better record than the Seahawks yet they have to play away from home should be enough to turn the tide of justice in their favor.

The Seahawks have a losing record and yet they are hosting the game. The good thing is that statics show that visiting teams have more than a 75 percent chance of winning. So, that’s another thing the New Orleans Saints have on their side. Now, they will not win the Superbowl, but at least they will win to play another day. Well, it’s almost game time. Enjoy the game.
