Heat Burned The Bulls Last Night
The writing is on the wall whether we want to read it or not. The Chicago Bulls are not doing well in the heat. Last night in a must win game they came up short in overtime. The team with the best record in the NBA, the team with the MVP, the team with the coach of the year, and the team with the best record in the NBA is on its last leg and could be done by tomorrow night.
History is not on their side. They cannot and will not come back from 3-1 to win. That just goes to show that if you don’t have anything left in the tank for the post season, then you’re going down and out regardless of your regular season record.
Derek Rose is clearly burnt out. He carried the Chicago Bulls through the regular season and now he is drained. This is one “Rose” that’s fading fast. Better luck next year. As much as we did not want to see the Heat win – the writing is on the wall. No need to watch anymore. Derek Rose is great but he is not greater than Jordan. There is no one greater. Let’s give Lebron James his due. We don’t like how he jilted Cleveland Cavaliers with “The Decision,” but he is the best player in the NBA. Is that how you feel? If not, please leave your comments.
The top NBA teams in the Western conference 2011 playoffs are not looking good. Spurs are down 3-1 to the number eight seed, Memphis.
Tim Duncan and Tony Parker are missing in action. The San Antonio Spurs look sluggish and now you have to wonder if there is much merit to playing for top seed, getting the best record or second best record and then have nothing for the playoffs. We saw what happened with the Boston Celtics.
They were on a losing streak towards the end of the season once they realized they would not be the top seed. Now it seemed like they were definitely trying to get the Knicks in the first round. They now look very good and have momentum back on their side. The Spurs were winning and now they seem to have nothing left in the tank. Memphis just tried to get in and now they are really playing. There is very little hope for the Spurs winning that series. They are done for this season.
Now, they are not done as a team based on present composition, but they are certainly losing ground to the OKC Thunder and Memphis. Their days of dominance in the west are over. There are some new kids on the block. Tim Duncan turned 35 yesterday. He has done well to avoid serious injuries, but his days are numbered. Truly, the writing is on the wall for the teams that have not had any changes for a while. The new teams are staking their claim on the league.
Now it makes sense why Lebron James and Chris Bosh went to team up with Miami’s Dwayne Wade. Same idea in Boston and New York, otherwise everybody else is the new kid on the block and they are energized. How about Denver? They pulled out one win and that is good for them. More games tonight- enjoy!
The New York Knicks are desperately in need of a Good Friday blessing. The Boston Celtics roll into the real “garden,” tonight, and we just believe that the Knicks will send them reeling. The Knicks must win tonight. Mark my words, if they do not win tonight, they will be swept by the Boston Celtics. Tonight is a pivotal night, and if Amare can stand up he has to play. Not winning game three will be like pulling them off the respirator. It will only be three days and they will not resurrect.
As I follow the series, it is very interesting and those who are rooting for Boston Celtics need to be more concerned for them than Knicks fans are about being swept. If they had just a “little bit of luck” they would be up 2-0. The New York Knicks have garnered new respect and love because of how they have been playing. They are playing with heart and it should pay off. It would be too sad if they don’t win even one game. Madison Square Garden should be rocking tonight and hopefully the New York Knicks can pull this one out. They must score over 100 if they want to win.
Today has great significance for the Knicks. This is Passover and Easter weekend for those who believe accordingly. Even though being down 2-0 looks bad, the Knicks are due for a “Good Friday” and a “resurrection” Sunday.
Lakers Tie It Up
Last night the NBA teams in the Western conference came out playing exciting basketball. Teams that were down bounced back and that could signal the end of the lower seeds winnings in some cases.
The Los Angeles Lakers won with Kobe Bryant scoring under twenty points. Andrew Bynum carried the team, and that showed they are getting their grove back. They may not have to go to Jamaica after all. They still look beatable, so don’t count CP3 out just yet.
The other Western conference teams also won. The San Antonio Spurs got their desperately needed win and pulled even. They should go on to win the series. Tony Parker is getting his rythm back and he is got good help last night. Tim Duncan is stirring up the fire in his belly and showing some enthusiasm. That’s a good sign for them.
Kevin Durant not just plays for the OKC Thunder, he is “thunder.” The Denver Nuggets might be the only team to get swept in the first round. The Knicks will definitely win at least one game against Boston Celtics. The New York Knicks should really be up 2-0, so they should get their first win on Friday night. Hopefully it will be a “good” Friday for them. I’ll blog about them tomorrow.
The NBA playoffs are in full swing and so far, apart from Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, and Los Angeles Lakers, the top seeded teams are winning, but they are not convincing. Again, Indiana Pacers have been able to withstand the “Bull run,” so far, and are showing they belong in the playoffs. I did not see much of them during the regular season, so I am really surprised to see how well they are playing Chicago. It is just a pity they did not win game one. It seems quite a daunting task for them to upset the Bulls, but they should be able to win even one game.
The Chicago Bulls are relying on one player an dif he has an off night they are done. So, looking at them going to the finals will be very challenging. They cannot beat the Miami Heat nor the Boston Celtics with one player. This is the playoffs and everybody ought to step up. Had it been any other team, the Bulls would be down 0-2 right now. Rose is blooming but it’s time for Boozer and the others to come to play and help Rose. If rose gets worn out from the first round, what chances do they have when they get to the second round? I am not cheering for the Bulls, except if the Celtics cannot make it over the Heat, I see them beating the Heat.
Indiana Pacers have no reason to hang their heads. They just need to try and win one game. Don’t focus on winning the series against the Bulls, just try to win one while they only have one Chicago Bull do to deal with. They don’t want a real bull run an dnow is the time to get that one win. There are other teams who should be thinking the same. The New York Knicks just need to win tonight. Win tonight an dcome to MSG with the series tied and take it from there.
I am not concerned about Chauncy Billups being out, because it is clear if the Knicks play at Celtics Speed they will always come up short. They need Thomas to run the point and pick up the pace. Score 120 if you can or else you will be going out in four games and with loses of 6 points or less in each game. I am not a Knicks fan, but I love what’s going on with the Knicks. I like it that Amare and Carmelo were not afraid to come to New York and play their hearts out. Even if you are not a Knicks fan you have to love Carmelo and Amare just because you are a New Yorker.
