Ready For Some Football

Hello world

You know fall is here when the kids are restless and want to go back to school. In two weeks summer will be officially over. Wow! Where did the days of summer go? If you haven’t yet taken a break – you better do so now. You still have time.

If you are a football fan you are licking your chops because football season is almost here. Last night I tried to watch the Colts and Steelers, but could not stay awake. I did see enough of Luck to know that he has skills and will win some games. I don’t think either the Colts or the Broncos are going to do very well. But, what do I know. As someone said, “that is why we play the game.”

New York! New York

The game I really wanted to see was on Saturday between the NY Jets and the NY Giants. It is funny how two New York teams could not find a way to stay and play in New York. Anyway, as a NY Giants fan I expected them to win and I heard they did. It would be nice to see both teams do well, but the NY Jets are just not ready. Many people expected to see Rex Ryan show his hand in the preseason games and they are upset that he did not. I had no such expectations. I believe that the Jets will put on greater performances when the games matter. I believe both New York teams will make the playoffs. As we have seen now, the Giants just want to get in and they are heading to the Super bowl. The Jets have to fight to get in that when they get in they have no strength left. Hopefully there will be many great Sunday afternoons and Monday nights of football. I can’t wait!

Ready For Some Football

The Olympics had filled the summer nicely, now it’s time for some football. The games filled that Sunday afternoon void and with some baseball games later in the Sunday afternoon, there is very little choice even if you have cable. Let’s bring on football!

The sports teams in New York who played
his weekend are 1- 1 so far. We can only hope that the Jets can mount a comeback. They still have one quarter to go. Well, the Jets lost.

Giants had a big win though some people think it was a close call. It doesn’t matter how you win as long as you win. Eli Manning brought the Giants back just like he did when they won the Superbowl. There is no replay on that play, so get over it. Every team needs a break some time. Cardinal fans – get over it. Win your other games if you can. You will get your breaks too.

The New York Jets did not get the same breaks. They just gave away 21 points through carelessness. Mark Sanchez needs to be protected better. Come on Jets Nation, get it together now. Beat the Patriots on Sunday and you will be back in the thick of things.

NY Giants and the Jets

Hello world,

The football game between the two New York football teams who play in New Jersey just ended. The Jets beat the NY Giants 17-3. Thanks to Met Life for stepping up and claiming the naming rights. Does that really make the Jets number one football team in New York? I don’t think so. I believe until the Jets win another super bowl, they can make a lot of noise but they won’t be number one. Of course, one pre-season game is no indication of how the season will go. I expect the Jets to get to the Super bowl this season. New York City is a great sports city, but only winners get parades. Please share your thoughts.

Peyton Manning in Peyton Place

Hello world,

Peyton Manning has never missed the start of an National Football League (NFL) season. The NFL football season is a few weeks away, and it tells us many things, one of them is that summer is almost over. The next thing is that College football will be back on Saturdays very soon. As interesting as all those things are- they are not the news. The news is that the face of the National Football League (NFL). Peyton Manning might not start on September 11, when the Colts play Houston. The last time Peyton Manning did not start as quarterback he was playing at Tennessee University. The date was September 24, 1994. Peyton Manning is like Brett Favre. He is durable.

Can the Colts make it very far without Peyton Manning? They just signed journey man, Kerry Collins as insurance in case Peyton Manning cannot start. Collins is a veteran quarterback. He played very well in New York when he played for the NY Giants. He has been around the league a lot and played well for the Dolphins last season. So, he is no Mr. Manning, but he is experienced enough to play in Peyton’s Place. The question to Colts nation and football analysts is this- will Peyton Manning be ready for game one or will Collins have to lead the charge? Please share your comments.

Two To Texas – Super bowl XLV

Super bowl forty-five will kick off in exactly 11 days. Jets and Bears fans have been rescued from the fields of depression and are now on the bandwagon of either the Steelers or Packers bandwagon. The loss for New York and Chicago was great, but the teams who are heading to Dallas really played well.

So, who will win Super bowl XLV? I think the Steelers will go in as the favorites and will win. Packers will play them tough and it is going to be a great game. Starting next Monday I will begin a series of surface analysis of the both teams.
