Hurricane Irene Insists On Coming To New York City

Respect Irene

Hello world,

Hurricane Irene insists on coming to America, so we are getting ready on the east coast. We pleaded with her, but Irene don’t listen. She is still coming. Ok! Bring it on! We’re ready for you.

Irene and Travel

Don’t even think about it. Hurricane Irene is now in North Carolina. In New York and New Jersey we wish we could close the turnpike, but she will just come on the Atlantic Ocean. Seriously, if you are traveling to New York City, you stay put. All public transportation will cease operation at noon today. That means no subways, no buses, no Long Island Railroad (LIRR) and the three major airports (LaGuardia, John F. Kennedy, and Newark Liberty) will shut down at noon. People- the name of the game is safety first. If you need more information about New York City, please click here and you will be taken to the city’s website. Also, you can contact the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) at 718-330-1234.
