Graduations- Class of 2012

Class of 2012

Class of 2012

By now the universities and colleges are completing their flurry of graduations. I know today is Queens College in New York City and yesterday was John Jay College of Criminal Justice also a part of the City University of New York. Congratulations to the class of 2012 from the institutions of higher learning.

In the northern region of the U. S. A. where high and elementary schools close end of June, this is the month for the high school, junior high, elementary and kindergarten graduations. Congratulations also to you and your parents if you are in that category. You too are part of the Class of 2012.

The Class of 2012
What is in store for the class of 2012? Have we made the opportunities for work, safety, peace, service, education, and finances better for them. I was at John Jay College’s graduation yesterday and Senator Charles Schumer was the guest speaker. He challenged the graduating class of 2012 to have a dream and go for it. Then he closed with the poem, “If” by Rudyard Kiplin. I encourage all graduates to read it. Go for it and be the best you. Congratulations Class of 2012. Well done!

Hello world,
Sometimes it is good to just help down the stress, worries and concerns of daily life and get a camera and just go take some photographs. Photography can easily make you forget your troubles. The photos don’t have to be perfect, you don’t have to follow the rule of thirds, you just need a camera, a memory card and as little as 30 mins.

The Joy of Photography

The photographs you see in this blog were taken with my camera phone while strolling in lower Manhattan on Memorial Day 2012.
I didn’t want to take my professional camera with heavy lens, flash and other equipment. I was just out for a few moments of relaxation. Take time out for yourself to relax. Smell the roses but also take the photographs.
Please share, comment, respond- do something.

Miami Heat Takes Game 1

GRILLED

GRILLED

Hello world,

Celtics “Grilled” In the Miami Heat

Lebron James comes up big against Boston Celtics. Only Kevin Garnett of the Celtics showed up and withstood the south beach Heat. The Celtics certainly got grilled in the Miami Heat. For Game 2 the Celtics have to focus on playing basketball ann then they won’t have to worry about the referees. It is clear that the fix is in for Miami Heat and OKC to go the NBA finals 2012. If the San Antonio Spurs and the Boston Celtics play their game no matter how they are cheated they will be fine.

The Fix
Boston played a game 7 in the previous round while the Heat was rested. The Celtics are more mature, so Boston has to slow it down. Is the fix in for the Heat to get all the calls and get to the finals? What are your thoughts? Does Boston even the series tomorrow? If they go down 0-2 they will be done. Please share your comments and thoughts. Are you still following the NBA playoffs?

NYC and Memorial Day 2012

New York City Sights on Memorial Day 2012

Hello world,

We must all pause today amidst the barbecues and soaking up of sun to remember those who fought and died for our freedom. Today we have the opportunity to pause and express thanks for the sacrifices made on our behalf during all the wars.

Memorial Day 2012

What a beautiful day in New York City. The weather is great, people are out with their family and friends and all in all it is a great Memorial Day and a great unofficial start to summer. Memorial Day is one of those holidays that is really about taking time to reflect on how great a price has been paid for the freedom we enjoy in America today. Of course, it is not all gloom. We can still enjoy the time with family and friends around the grill or at the beach. Whatever you do, be safe. The photos in this blog were taken today in NYC. They give you a glimpse of what was going on. Enjoy!

The New York Knicks Playoff Hopes Out of Bounds

Hello world

The New York Knicks were done in by the Chicago Bulls last night and now they are only one game ahead of the Bucks. NBA Basketball is back and bigger than ever. They are in the conversation and could be the headlines behind the news. If the NY Knicks don’t win tonight they could be in jeopardy of making the playoffs. Why? Because the Milwaukee Bucks would have the tie-breaker over the New York Knicks. Things are getting really interesting in the Eastern Conference. Just a few weeks ago the Boston Celtics were left for dead, Rondo was on the trading block and the team was ready for an implosion, but they have been resurrected and they are hanging in there. They just beat the Miami Heat last night. Seems to me if the Heat don’t like their coach they’re not going to pull a Dwight Howard, they just let the other teams beat them. Is life a beach or is life a South Beach? What are your thoughts? Respond, please.
